The Donella Meadows Film Project
Do you have tapes, videos, images, or stories about Donella “Dana” Meadows? Contribute copies to our Donella Meadows Film Campaign!
The Donella Meadows Institute is starting an exciting new film project, and we need your help to complete it! Over the next year, we will be working with Enrico Cerasuolo, Director of Last Call, to create a short film that explores Dana’s evolution as an environmentalist, thinker, and communicator. Just like Dana did during her lifetime, we hope the film will motivate and empower a new generation of leaders to work towards a more sustainable, equitable world. The finished piece will be an inspiring and energizing look at the approaches that distinguished one of the 20th century’s pioneering sustainability leaders—and it will stream online for free!
We will be using a range of audio, video, and film resources from our online archive and the archive at Rauner Library to explore Dana’s impact, but the documents there only tell part of the story. How did Dana touch your life? Send us any Dana-related media you have—including photographs, letters, and short video reflections about her impact on your life and work—to help us communicate Dana’s inspiration to a new audience of leaders. Your materials will be included in our online archive and may be featured in the film. You can also support this project by making a monetary donation—contributions of all sizes help us turn this idea into a powerful reality!
To get involved, start by taking a look at this short video from the DMI staff. Then, once you’re inspired, join us by making a donation or contributing your own media on Dana Meadows. We can’t wait to share in making this film with you!
